Cypress Lake Campground

Many species of birds can be found around the Cypress Lake Campground and boat ramp area as well as along the 2 mile stretch of Cypress Lake Road from Canoe Creek Road. Likely species here are Sandhill Cranes, most waders, Barred Owls, Pileated Woodpecker, Hawks, Turkeys, etc.

There are a few photographic opportunities on Lake Cypress itself, mostly morning locations. I have noticed most all the above species at these along with Northern Harriers, Black Necked Stilts and even Rosette Spoonbills at certain times of the year. Directions: Cypress Lake Road runs directly off Canoe Creek Road Co Hwy 523 approximately 11 miles from St. Cloud. This will be a right hand turn when coming from St. Cloud.
